There are a number of projects already identified that will make a huge difference to the orphan communities. The various food projects are in progress and scaled to suit available resources. The infrastructure projects are in basic scoping phase and subject to availability of funding before commencement.

Annual corn planting of about 10 ha in October and harvesting in June/July. Providing staple food for 6-9 months (depending on season).
Cost estimate: $8,000 - $10,000
There are no permanent running water at the majority of the rural communities. Require permanent bore holes equipped with solar pump and header tank to sustain food projects.
Cost estimate: $15,000 per equipped borehole
Community food project to establish aquaponics style fish farming in combination with vegetable tunnels. Requires regular supply of running water.
Cost estimate: $15,000 per community centre
Food project to establish chicken farming for regular supply of protein in the form of eggs and meat. Require about 1,000 broilers and 1,000 layers for a regular supply of protein.

School facilities in the rural communities are either non-existing or in very poor state. Possible solutions include sea container buildings equipped as classrooms.
Cost estimate: $80,000 per basic school layout
The majority of rural communities don’t have access to medical facilities. These communities require local facilities to benefit from travelling doctors and other humanitarian aid.
