Shuva Foundation is an Australian charity supporting children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe through food, education and community-based projects. Explore our FAQs to learn more about our work and how you can get involved.

What is Shuva Foundation?

Shuva Foundation is an Australian not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Zimbabwe. We focus on providing food, education and practical support so that vulnerable young people can have hope and a future.

Who does Shuva Foundation partner with in Zimbabwe?

We work in close partnership with Youth With a Vision, a Zimbabwean humanitarian and private voluntary organisation led by founding director Rev Bonface Mutudza. Rev Mutudza has dedicated more than two decades to caring for youth orphaned by HIV/AIDS through a community-based orphan care program.

Where does Shuva Foundation’s work take place?

Through Youth With a Vision, we currently support community-based orphan care programs at four centres near: Harare, Mazowe, Chivhu, Mutare. These centres serve orphaned and vulnerable children in surrounding rural communities.

How many children are currently supported?

The number of children supported through the community care program typically ranges from just over 1,000 to about 1,500, depending on available resources at any given time.

How is Shuva Foundation currently funded?

Most of our current funding comes from:
A small number of families making regular monthly contributions
Additional one-off donations through word of mouth
We are actively working to grow our supporter base so we can reach more children.

How will my donation be used?

Your donation will be directed towards practical projects that directly benefit orphaned and vulnerable children in Zimbabwe. Depending on current needs, this may include food programs (such as corn, fish or chicken farming), education assistance, or vital infrastructure like clean water, school facilities and medical clinics. We work closely with Youth With a Vision to ensure funds go where they will have the greatest impact.

Can my business or organisation partner with Shuva Foundation?

Yes. We actively seek partnerships with both Australian and Zimbabwean businesses to deliver social and community-based projects. If your organisation would like to explore partnership opportunities – including sponsoring a specific project such as a borehole, school block or food program – we would love to hear from you.
