Planting and harvesting 10 ha of corn each year from 2016 until now, providing maize meal as staple food to the orphans
Shuva Foundation was founded in 2016 by Andries Bredell after first getting involved with the aids orphans in Zimbabwe in 2005.
Andries was born in South Africa where he spent the first half of his career working in the mining industry. He first got involved with Rev Mutudza in 2005 during volunteer work at his local church and in 2006 he went on an outreach to Zimbabwe to help establish food tunnels at one of the orphan communities. Later in 2006 Andries relocated to Australia resulting initially in limited and ad hoc support for the work of Youth With a Vision. However, in 2015 Andries found a renewed passion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the less privileged youth in Zimbabwe who, by no fault of their own, are challenged by their desperate circumstances and no hope of a better future.
Shuva Foundation was established in 2016 as a mechanism to raise funds in Australia to resource the work of Youth With a Vision in Zimbabwe. Since then, Shuva has been able to fund:
Planting and harvesting 10 ha of corn each year from 2016 until now, providing maize meal as staple food to the orphans
Pay school fees
Provide transportation and fuel for fortnightly food distribution
Started fish farming
Shuva Foundation is an Australian not-for-profit organization committed to the support of aids orphans in Zimbabwe.
